Lauren Payer, BCaBA

Lauren Payer has worked with students with autism and other developmental disabilities using Applied Behavior Analysis since 1993.  She has her degree in Teacher of the Handicapped and is also a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (#0-03-1052).   She taught for many years in a self contained public school classroom for children with autism where she designed and implemented individualized educational and behavior programs utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. She provided individual programming, focusing on socialization, behavior, and language development and oversaw the transition of students into mainstream settings. In addition she has worked with families providing in home consultation, training and programming as well as shadowed students in integrated settings such as camps and after school programs.   

Currently, Mrs. Payer works in public schools as a consultant.  Her responsibilities include developing ABA programs for students with autism preschool through high school using B.F. Skinner’s Analysis of Verbal Behavior, conducting functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans, educating general education teachers on effective strategies for children with autism in mainstreaming and inclusion settings and social skill instruction.   

Mrs. Payer conducts workshops to all professionals on various topics in the field of ABA and is passionate about improving the lives of people with disabilities.   She has worked in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Ireland.
